MURDER SUSPECT ISABELLE JOHNSON ARRESTED IN JACKSON COUNTY BY US MARSHALS; EXTRADITED TO WALTON COUNTY

Isabelle Johnson, 38, a murder suspect who had evaded capture for nearly two months, was arrested Thursday, August 13th by the U.S. Marshals Task Force at a home off Peanut Road near Cottondale in Jackson County, following communications tracking by the Walton County Sheriff's Office Cyber Crime Unit. She was extradited and booked into the Walton County Jail Friday morning. The charges stem from the June finding of a body identified as 43-year-old Jason Coulthart, who had been reported missing to Niceville Police in late May and was found buried in a shallow grave on Sunset Lane in Freeport after a tip from an inmate in the Okaloosa County Jail led investigators there on June 25th. The manhunt for Johnson resulted in more than two dozen arrests overall, including five people accused of helping her after the killing. Chief Deputy Dustin Cosson credited investigators' work rather than media tips for locating her, and the agency says an investigation into how she ended up in Cottondale continues, with additional charges expected.
