- At least 47 inches lower jaw fork length (or 25 inches cleithrum to keel)

- 1 a day per person
- Note
- Max 4 per recreational (not for-hire) vessel or 15 per for-hire vessel; charter boats limited to 6 per vessel; zero for captain and crew of for-hire vessels; no more than the daily limit on board regardless of trip length
- Also needed
- Federal HMS Angling Permit (required in federal waters only)
- Hook and line only
- Shark-damaged swordfish may be kept only if the remainder meets the minimum size
- Landed swordfish must be reported to NOAA within 24 hours
