How to delete it
In the Keep Watch app or on this website: open Saved, tap your account, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete my account. Type DELETE to confirm. You can also do it here:
What is deleted, right away
- Your sign-in and profile: your email address, how you sign in, your name, your plan and when you joined.
- Everything you saved or follow: places, towns, projects, council and news topics, and neighborhoods.
- Your alerts, your notifications, your email and notification settings, and the phones registered for alerts.
- If you pay for a plan: your subscription, canceled at once with no further charges.
We send one email to say the account is gone. After that we send nothing more to that address.
What may remain for a short time
- Our hosting provider's request logs (which include IP addresses): about one hour.
- Our database provider's request logs: about one day.
- The email service's record of emails we sent you, including the confirmation: 30 days.
After 30 days none of them hold anything about it, and no backup could bring it back.
What is kept
A record that an account's plan was changed, and when, is kept to prevent misuse. After deletion it holds only a random account number that no longer leads to an email address or a name. If you paid for a plan, Stripe keeps its own payment records as the law requires.
Nothing else about you is kept. The public records the site shows (meetings, projects, property sales) are not about your account and stay on the site.
No account?
You can read everything on Keep Watch without one, and visitors without an account have nothing stored to delete. Settings kept in your own browser (the last town you looked at, for example) are removed by clearing this site's data in your browser.
